Department of English and Modern Languages


Higher Diploma in English is a course designed for individuals who are interested in improving their English language skills further. They will be exposed to a rich variety of linguistic content. Students will be taught by a highly qualified panel of academics which will enhance students’ language skills through practical methodology using authentic situations. Higher Diploma is equal to the completion of English as a main subject of the first year in the General Degree at SIBA Campus. The course consists of two parts: Advanced Diploma in English and Higher Diploma in English.

Basic requirements for enrolling on this course are;

  • B pass for Diploma in English at SIBA or Completion of SLQF Level 3 qualification with a B pass from any other recognized institute. Or/and
  • A/L three passes preferably with a B pass for General English

Department Of Information Technology


The Higher Diploma in Information Technology course is specially designed for our Diploma in Information Technology students continue their studies to a higher level. It provides students with the necessary theoretical knowledge and practical skills to meet excellent career opportunities in the Information Technology industry. This course provides an introduction to management information systems, what they are, how they affect the organization and its employees, and how they can make businesses more competitive and efficient.

The Higher Diploma in Information Technology is an ideal first goal for students who wish to continue their studies toward a BSc degree in IT. Students who have completed the Higher Diploma in Information technology (30 credits) that satisfies the first year degree requirement could seek admission to the B.Sc. degree in Information Technology.

Department of Management Studies


Advanced Diploma and Higher Diploma in Management is designed to develop knowledge, understanding, and competence of those who seek career opportunities and for those who wish to pursue a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management. The programs will benefit students who wish to continue after the successful completion of Diploma in Management, and also for those who are with GCE A/L qualification from diverse study streams even without any prior background to management studies. At the successful completion of Higher Diploma in Management which equates with Sri Lanka Qualifications Framework (SLQF) Level 4 qualifications, the diploma holder could continue on to the Bachelor’s Degree (SLQF) Level 5 in Management.
