Welcome to the Department of Counseling Psychology. Counseling Psychology is a specialization within the broad field of psychology that focuses on improving well-being, preventing and alleviating distress and maladjustment and increasing individual’s ability to function better in their lives by enhancing personal growth. Our Department has a short yet enriching history with many graduates, Diploma and Higher Diploma holders contributing to the psychosocial wellbeing of individuals of Sri Lanka and the world. The Department provides a supportive, friendly and professional environment for a diverse population. Students are provided with an interactive and authentic learning experience to study, explore and effectively apply the gained knowledge and skills. Students are constantly under the guidance and supervision of a panel of experienced and highly qualified academic staff.
